Composition
ROSSOPURO® Forte is crafted with care in small batches by fermentation of a yeast called Monascus purpureous. Our standardized fermentation conditions naturally enrich the rice with substances known as monacolins, including Monacolin K. To further enhance the product’s functionality, Gamma Oryzanol (from Oryza sativa L.) and Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (from Zea mays L.) are then added in a specific ratio to the final formula.

Preclinical evidence
In a preclinical efficacy and safety study with mice fed with a high fat diet plus ROSSOPURO® Forte or standard Red Yeast Rice, the bioactive compounds found in ROSSOPURO® Forte were found to work synergistically reducing total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides and inflammation outperforming standard Red Yeast Rice (Derosa et al. 2019).

Clinical evidence
The clinical efficacy of ROSSOPURO® Forte has been assessed in a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled trial where 88 adult subjects with borderline total cholesterol (TC) values (i.e., 200–239 mg/dL) and LDL-C values ≤159 mg/dL, equally divided into 2 groups, were supplemented with one capsule per day of active or placebo for 90 consecutive days. ROSSOPURO® Forte resulted in a significant reduction of both TC and LDL-C levels while HDL-C levels were significantly increased. These findings confirm the synergy found in our preclinical study in a mice model of hypercholesterolemia.
